Bihar Entrepreneurship Scheme:
The popular name of the scheme is Bihar Udyami Yojana. It was launched by the Industry Department of the Government of Bihar to promote new ventures in the state. The official name of the scheme is Chief Minister Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe / Extremely Backward Class / Women / Minority Youth Entrepreneur Scheme. The main goal of the scheme is to help the young entrepreneurs from the above communities establish their own ventures by providing the necessary finance.
Bihar Udyami Yojana Major Highlights:
- Loans: Any applicant is entitled to get the monetary amount offered through this scheme in the form of a loan, which can go up to Rs 10 lakh for initiating the establishment of a business.
- 50% Subsidy: The benefit is given in the form of a 50% subsidy, which translates to Rs 5 lakh. It means half of the amount of the loan will be exempted.
- Loan without Interest: The remaining amount that still remains will be provided as an interest-free loan.
Eligibility/Selection Process of Chief Minister Entrepreneur Scheme 2024:
- Lottery-Based Selection: For the last year, selection was made by lottery. Thus, only selected persons whose names are drawn in the lottery can get benefits. It is probably that this year also the same will happen.
- Application Screening: The applications are reviewed by a committee within 15 days of receiving the applications. The passed applicants are forwarded to the manager of the District Industries Centre for physical verification.
Training and Fund Disbursal:
- Training: Only selected applicants are eligible to undergo training in institutes for two weeks.
- Installments: The entire amount of loan is disbursed in three hassle-free installments. After training, the very first installment is passed, subject to the Detailed Project Report (DPR) submitted by a candidate for his business project.
- Training Allowance: In addition to all this, selected applicants will also receive a training allowance of Rs 25,000 per unit.
